During a tour on the internet your site manager suddenly stumbled upon the Portus87 - team. It so happened that this team was looking for an opponent during their European Tour in April. What are the odds on that? Off course we have invited Team De Waard to participate as well, so that we can seize this opportunity to redeem ourselves from the lost Proton Cup 2003.

It is a great honour for us to welcome your team in Belgium, at ourfourth international futsal tournament. Traveling in auto caravan from Porto to Zelem is no problem, beause the highway in France and Belgium are very good. And I think that the motorway is also good in Spain, ofcourse it is a long way. Do you know how many nights you will stay in Hasselt (Hasselt is the best
place) it is the capital from our province Limburg.
Hasselt is only 15 minutes away from sports centre Kambergen in Zelem by car. And only 1 hour by car from the Belgian capital Brussels. We also like to invite your team for a free welcome meal at the Friday evening the day before the tournament. We will accompany you from the hotel to the restaurant, en of course also from your hotel to the sports centre.
We also accompany you from the motorway exit Hasselt
to the hotel to make sure you will have a good time in Belgium. When you arrive in Hasselt just ring me on my handy phone, and I will personal welcoming you, because I think it not easy for you to say what time you will arrive in Hasselt. The only other thing I like to know is what day you will arrive. I will also send you the time table on 26 March 2003 after 2 weeks. Do you prefer to play in group A-B-C or D ? just let me know, and I will make for sure that you can play in your favorite group.
I can also arrange a visit to the Gin Museum or distillery just let me know, to make sure your team will have a good time. The participating countries are 1.Belgium, 2 Holland, 3.Germany, 4.England, 5,Switzerland,
6.Portugal, 7.Moldova (Sovjet
Union) and 8 Congo (Zaire) from Africa. But the name from our tournament is still Dynamic Euro Cup. Africa is not Europe but that is no problem for the tournament name.

 Terminou com um concludente 1-7 o encontro de futsal entre a equipa da nossa página e do Portus 87.
Seguiu-se a confraternização no Restaurante Pôr do Sol em Óis da Ribeira, a melhor parte do encontro, e ficou a certeza de um reencontro, desta feita em S. Mamede.

Concerning your Holland trip I have visit the site from this team thevillage is Bussum it is situated near Amsterdam. That is good newsbecause Amsterdam is only 2 hours away from us by car.
Concerning our international Futsal tournament in Belgium your team isvery welcome. The level from our tournament is not so high, it is anrecreation tournament, with always an friendly atmosphere. In 2003 wehave teams from Belgium, Holland, England, Germany and Switzerland thereis also a team from Poland and Gibraltar interested in our tournamentand maye with your team an team from Portugal ? In the attachments youwill find al the information about our tournament. Participating is ofcourse free of charge. If you wish I can also send you more touristicand hotel information to your home address.
You can also playing some friendly matches in Belgium in case the datesfrom our tournament are not so good for you ? It is no problem for us tofind 2 more teams. And have a tournament with only 4 teams on aafternoon. If you don't like an tournament you can also playing 2 or 3friendly matches we can arrange everything.
Sunday there was a bowling evening with our team for the fun.
I have informed the players that we can playing futsal in Porto Portugalin 2004. And I have very good news because all the players like to come to Portugal in 2004. It is a great honour for us to participate in yourtournament in Portugal in 2004. If there is no tournament, than we alsolike to come to Portugal and playing some friendly games. We will comefor a week and mixing tourism and football (futsal) just like you do inSpain. If you wish I can ask a second team ? because I have many friendsall over Europe. In any case we come to Portugal in 2004 if it is ok foryou. After playing futsal we can have a drink or meal together and
making friends. I also like Porto wine, Sandeman is very famous in
Belgium. Can we visit a Porto wine company ? after playing futsal,
before is not so good for us. Where we live here in Belgium there aremany Gin distilleries and beer breweries you can visit it if you want.
FC Porto is also a famous football team in Belgium.(The best team fromPortugal)My favourite team in Belgium is Club Brugge it is 2 hours away fromwhere I live. But some other players in my team are fans from RacingGenk only 15 minutes away from where I live. If you wish you can visitthe football stadium from Racing Genk. This 2 teams playing championsleague this year.

Cheguei agora a casa, após o incrível fim de semana na Galiza. Ainda com tudo bem presente na memória, lembrando-me das coisas boas (e foram quase todas) mas sem conseguir afastar aquela nuvem escura da derrota no torneio. Por muito que me esforce, eu sei que nunca vou deixar de viver o futebol como "uma questão de vida ou de morte". E na verdade sinto-me tão bem, tão integrado, neste grupo porque é assim que vivemos todos o futebol.
Era bom que as pessoas soubessem que aquilo que se diz acerca do futebol profissional, de como é dramático, belo, poético, apaixonado e apaixonante, no nosso caso é tudo isso e ainda muito mais: ninguém nos paga para jogar, muito menos a peso de ouro, não temos condições principescas, nem treinos científicos; ninguém nos idolatra. Nós é que pagámos para jogar, nós é que tratamos das nossas lesões, organizamos as nossas viagens. Tudo pelo prazer de jogar à bola. E ainda temos que sobreviver às queixas das namoradas ou das esposas, aos avisos e conselhos dos pais, ao sarcasmo dos amigos, às lesões que nos apoquentam.
Mas nós sabemos que a amizade, o carinho, a boa disposição que vivemos no tempo que estamos juntos vale tudo isso e ainda muito mais. E claro, nada pode pagar o prazer da bola a saltar, o entusiasmo de uma jogada bem feita, de uma tabela prometedora, de uma combinação inspirada, o esforço desesperado de uma recuperação impossível. Talvez por isso alguns digam que somos duros, intratáveis; caceteiros, segundo outros. Mas para nós, o futebol é uma coisa muito séria; se calhar porque é a brincadeira de que mais gostamos...Cada jogo, uma final; cada lance, decisivo. E o mais belo, é que ninguém nos paga para jogar. ´Por isso, o verdadeiro futebol é o nosso. Porque é puro...
Este torneio de Foz acabou por ser bastante representativo da época que agora acaba para o PORTUS: não fomos felizes em termos competitivos, morremos muitas vezes na praia. Isso deixa-nos um pouco tristes. Mas ao mesmo tempo, esta época demonstrou a mesma vontade férrea de sempre; e ainda mais importante, ficou bem claro que, lutando sempre pela vitória (às vezes de forma quase desmedida) temos a grande capacidade de saber perder com dignidade e correcção. Tenho orgulho por comprovar que todos os PORTUS demonstram o respeito máximo pela própria equipa, pelos adversários, pelos árbitros e, ainda mais importante, pelo próprio jogo. Daí que não entremos nunca, mesmo quando nos daria jeito, em perdas de tempo, distracções, matreirices. Esta é a nossa forma de estar e eu tenho orgulho nela.
Tenho a certeza de que a próxima época vai voltar a ser de prazer puro em jogarmos juntos. Vamos voltar a lutar para ganhar - e aposto que vamos ter mais sorte. No entanto, o mais importante será conseguirmos novamente fazer tantos jogos particulares (40 em 2002/2003)em que conhecemos novos amigos ou revemos antigos e vivemos novas experiências, viagens ( 2 a Madrid e 1 à Galiza), e em especial festejar devidamente a proeza que é para um grupo como o nosso atingir os 15 anos de existência. A coisa promete!
